About Uniting Goals
Uniendo Metas aims to promote the formation of values, skills and competencies of Argentinean youth in order to be prepared adults; we focus specifically on the following issues: civic responsibility, leadership and team work in order to guarantee the continuity of democracy and the strengthening of Argentinean institutions.
Throughout this first phase, the program is based on the methodology of Model United Nations, a project focused on the formation of young leaders and on promoting solidarity, tolerance and respect for values and diversity.
Program Components
It is an educational project for youth to think over those issues related to international current events. Throughout the school year, both students and teachers participate in training workshops and receive a complementary CD containing all the information they need to participate in the project.
After the training, the students -beneficiaries of the program- are able to participate in various activities: meetings at the school, inter-school, district, provincial or regional level. The project ends with a National Meeting in which students debate several issues representing their respective regions and states, with the objective of ultimately reaching a shared view of the international community. At the same time, the teachers in charge receive training in the formation of values and civic duties, in addition to some other aspects relevant to their role.
